The question that changed everything (and why I'm finally talking about it publicly)
There's a question I've been sitting with for about twelve years.
Not a complicated one. Actually, it's embarrassingly simple.
Why do so many smart, capable, hard-working people feel so terrible?
I'm not talking about people who've given up. I'm talking about the ones who are doing everything right — by every external measure. Good careers. Decent incomes. Eating reasonably well. Getting to the gym when they can. And yet: exhausted, in pain, wired and tired, running on caffeine and willpower, wondering why their body isn't keeping up.
I know this person well. For a long time, I was this person.
I moved to Australia from the Basque Country in Spain in 2005. I built a career from scratch in a country where I barely spoke the language. By 2016 I was working at Adobe as a Principal Consultant in digital marketing — a job I'm genuinely good at and still do today.
From the outside, it looked like everything was working.
Inside, my body was telling a different story. Chronic back pain I'd normalised. A level of fatigue that never quite lifted. Sleep that didn't recover me. A brain that wouldn't switch off. I kept telling myself it was temporary — a phase, a busy period, just the cost of building something.
It wasn't temporary. And it wasn't just me.
I started studying holistic health about twelve years ago — not as a career pivot, not as a hobby, but as a personal necessity. I needed to understand what was actually happening to my body and why conventional advice wasn't fixing it.
What I found changed the way I understand everything about human health.
The CHEK Institute, where I trained extensively, teaches something that sounds simple but is genuinely radical in practice: the body is a system. You cannot fix one part of it in isolation. Sleep affects nutrition. Stress affects movement. Breathing affects everything. Thinking shapes physiology in ways most people never consider.
Real health — the kind where you actually feel well, not just functional — requires all six foundations to be in place at once. Sleep. Hydration. Nutrition. Movement. Breathing. Thinking.
Most health advice addresses one of those, maybe two. And then people wonder why nothing's really changing.
I've spent twelve years studying this. I hold certifications from the CHEK Institute in Holistic Lifestyle Coaching, Integrated Movement Science, and a range of specialisations in movement, posture, and rehabilitation. More recently my work has expanded into the inner dimensions of health — breathwork, meditation, and healing practices through the Ishtar Channel School.
I run a coaching business called Argia Holistic Coaching, based in Taree on the Mid-North Coast of NSW — but working with people across Australia and online.
And I've decided it's time to stop keeping it quiet.
This blog is where I'll share what I've learned. Not trends. Not hacks. Not the supplement of the month.
The actual foundations of what it means to be well — physically, mentally, and eventually, if you're open to it, at a deeper level too.
If you're a professional who's been quietly deferring your health — telling yourself you'll sort it out when things calm down — this is for you.
Things don't calm down. But your body can.
Welcome to Argia.
